Trees!
So Graham and I have spent the whole holidays working on our WIL project, doing some animated scenes for a documentary called My America.
This is a film is going to get a cinema release and we will be credited apparently, its been fun working on it buts its taken up most of our time.
Lukily we've basically done our 50 hours so now we can get stuck into our film and not worry about it hanging over our heads.
Anyways I've working on some production storyboards and Graham has been studying compostion and doing a whole lot of thumbnails which he shall soon scan and post up!
Also, I've been trying to find this film for a few weeks, I like the lighting, colour and the animation style a lot, its called Tir Nan Og

animation tests
Here some animation tests which I created for the pitch, This shows the mix of photo shop, flash and after effects, the pipeline which I wish to use in production, also as well as the traditional animation style in flash.
Heres a test show a way to achieve the fog monsters, using traditional animation with effects applied in after effects,

The film
So, first post eh? Whats this blog all about anyways?
Well, this blog is designed to follow Graham Schneider and myself, Justin Bowen, through the production of our 3rd year film at Queensland College of Art.
As such, we shall post up any relevant information and art pertaining to it. At the same time we will post any links we find are interesting, which are related or unrelated to our project, which we want to share with everyone.
A bit about our film?
Working title: Epiphany in Darkness
Theme: Fear is a driving force which guides us in making choices.
Genre: Horror/Reform plot
We are designing the film to be a fairly fast paced film, to keep the audience interested while we explore the underlying theme.

Some of our influences visually and narrative wise are works from Gobelins like Monstera Deliciosa, Le lac gelé, Le Grande Arche and work fro Studio 4C and the film Tekkon Kinkreet
Alrighty then, thats it for now next time, some art and actual animation tests!
